The Role

We are looking for an outstanding construction teacher to join London South East.

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are passionate about developing and delivering quality teaching to adults. This is a fundamental role that supports adults gain an insight within the construction industry.

  • In this role you will be required to teach and assess students
  • Have a good working knowledge of the construction industry
  • Plan and deliver training sessions, Health & Safety, CSCS Cards
  • Level 1 Award in Construction Skills
  • Deliver training and teaching sessions in line with the programme and schedules
  • Deliver tutoring sessions using appropriate teaching techniques to meet the needs of the learners
  • Provide regular feedback to the learners
  • Prepare and plan learning sessions with clear aims and objectives
  • Manage learners’ attendance timely
  • Provide adequate support and information to the learners
  • Produce regular reports on quality and progress
  • Provide feedback to the learners
  • Liaise with training staff as appropriate
  • Keep up-to-date CPD
  • Attend meetings
  • Participate in quality assurance procedures including assessment and internal verification (IQA) of students’ work

Provide well-rounded feedback and meet the requirements of London South East College’s Construction Boot Camp and internal compliance and quality processes.

This post will also help support unemployed adult learners to remove barriers to training and ensure they have the same opportunities for personal development as their peers.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will be passionate about their industry as well as enthusiastic about teaching adults. Essential skills and experience required are:

  • Relevant qualifications in your trade (plumbing or electrical)
  • Experience in teaching adults
  • High levels of organisation

  • Level 1 Award in Construction Skills
  • The ability and initiative to work independently but also thrive in a team environment
