Job summary

MAN Truck & Bus UK is seeking a qualified Van technician to join our Bristol depot on a full-time basis. The role involves interpreting service orders, maintaining tools, and reporting faults with a focus on customer service and safety.

• Experience in workshop environment servicing light vehicles (LCV).

Responsibilities

• Interpret instructions from job card/repair orders and comply with repair manuals and tolerances.
• Attend training and stay updated with latest technical information.
• Accurately report and record work done and tests carried out; report further work or faults.
• Protect and maintain tools; report losses or needs for additional tools.
• Protect customers and company property.
• Keep allocated work areas clean and tidy; remove scrap after repair.
• Provide information and maintain records; perform duties accurately and efficiently.
• Undertake other tasks as required to support operations.
• Enhance the company image and support commercial interests.
• Comply with health and safety, policies and procedures.

Job description

Are you a qualified LCV (Van) Technician looking for a new opportunity for one of big 6 truck manufacturers in the UK?

Do you have previous experience of working with LCV's, ideally in a workshop environment?

Here at MAN Truck & Bus we are looking for an experienced Van technician to join our depot in Bristol on a full time permanent basis.

In This Role You Will

• To interpret instructions from the job card/repair order and to comply with repair instructions and stipulated settings and tolerances from manufacturers manuals, bulletins, check sheets etc.
• To attend training and to keep abreast of the latest technical information which is circulated or displayed.
• To accurately report and record work done and tests carried out and to immediately report any further work required or vehicle faults.
• To protect and maintain all tools and equipment by only using them in the prescribed manner and returning them to their place of storage immediately after use. To immediately report any loss, shortage, damage or malfunction of tools and equipment or if any additional tools or equipment are required to complete the repair.
• To protect and take care of customers and the company’s property.
• To maintain allocated work areas in a clean and tidy condition and to remove all scrap etc. immediately upon completion of each repair.
• To provide information, maintain records and carry out all duties in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
• To undertake such other tasks as may reasonably be required.
• To enhance the image and reputation of the company whilst supporting its commercial interests.
• To comply with good health and safety practice, all statutory requirements, company policies and standard procedures.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

• In-depth knowledge of the light vehicle industry & servicing such vehicles
• A relevant formal qualification (city & guilds/NQ level 3 in light vehicle repair with a proven track record in vehicle repair and servicing
