Job summary

Dorothy House in Corsham is seeking a Van Driver Team Leader to oversee a team of drivers, coordinate collections and deliveries, and ensure stock moves efficiently across our retail estate. The role is based from Corsham Warehouse and requires a hands-on, people-focused leader to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Holds a full UK driving licence and can drive 3.5T vehicles.
• Proven ability to lead and support a team and maintain standards.
• Ability to organise workloads, deliveries and stock movement.
• Excellent customer service and communication with donors, customers, volunteers and colleagues.
• Experience in physically active environments involving stock movement and manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Van Drivers to ensure safe, efficient deliveries and high customer service standards.
• Coordinate daily, weekly and reactive stock movement across the retail estate.
• Collaborate with other Van Driver Team Leaders to deliver seamless logistics.
• Support the Warehouse & Van Fleet Manager with recruitment, development and performance management of the driver team.
• Monitor vehicle compliance, report defects promptly and keep vehicles clean and operational.
• Support warehouse operations and stock movement activities when required.
• Act as a role model for customer service, professionalism and Dorothy House values.
• Ensure Gift Aid data collection and GDPR compliance.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements, efficiencies and income generation across the retail logistics operation.
• Provide hands-on driving support when required to ensure service continuity.
