Role Description

The Van Driver role is a full-time, on-site position based in Durham. The Van Driver is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering electrical products to customers and branches according to scheduled routes and delivery times. Day-to-day tasks include checking delivery notes, verifying orders, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and reporting any vehicle or delivery issues promptly. The role also involves providing professional, courteous service at delivery locations, handling goods carefully, and following all road safety and company procedures. The Van Driver works closely with the warehouse and sales teams to support accurate order fulfillment and efficient distribution operations.

Qualifications

• Valid driving license with a safe driving record and confident navigation skills.
• Experience in multi-drop delivery or van driving, ideally within a wholesale or distribution environment.
• Good communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to handle manual lifting, loading, and unloading of goods in a safe and efficient manner.
• Strong time management, reliability, and attention to detail when checking and delivering orders.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills for reading delivery documents and completing simple records.
• Knowledge of local routes in and around Durham and the wider North East is beneficial.
• Willingness to follow health and safety guidelines and company policies at all times.
• Previous experience in electrical wholesale or logistics is an advantage but not essential.
