Job summary

Driver Hire Edinburgh City is seeking experienced and reliable Van Drivers to join our team across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. We offer a range of flexible opportunities to suit your schedule, including regular work, extra shifts, or roles that fit around existing commitments.

As a Van Driver, your duties will include safe driving, local or regional deliveries, loading and unloading where required, and delivering to residential and commercial customers.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• Maximum of 9 penalty points.
• No DD, DR, CD, DG or IN endorsements.
• Comfortable with manual handling.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Flexible and available to work different shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a 3.5T van.
• Completing local and regional deliveries and collections.
• Delivering to residential and commercial customers.
• Loading and unloading goods where required.
• Completing multi-drop deliveries depending on the assignment.
• Working independently or alongside a Driver’s Mate.
• Following planned routes and delivery schedules.
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks.
• Providing professional and friendly customer service.
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time.

Job description

Driver Hire Edinburgh City are looking for experienced and reliable Van Drivers to join our team and work with a variety of well-established clients across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

Whether you’re looking for regular work, extra shifts or something to fit around your existing commitments, we have a range of flexible opportunities available.

As a Van Driver, your work will vary depending on the assignment. You could be completing local or regional deliveries and collections, working independently or alongside a Driver’s Mate.

Duties may include:

• Safely driving a 3.5T van
• Completing local and regional deliveries and collections
• Delivering to residential and commercial customers
• Loading and unloading goods where required
• Completing multi-drop deliveries depending on the assignment
• Working independently or alongside a Driver’s Mate
• Following planned routes and delivery schedules
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
• Providing professional and friendly customer service
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time

With a variety of clients and assignments available, no two shifts are necessarily the same!

PAYE

• £13.00 per hour
• £17.32 per hour after 8 hours

PAYE Advanced

• £14.57 per hour
• £19.42 per hour after 8 hours
• Flexible ad-hoc and ongoing work
• Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
• Weekly pay
• Overtime opportunities
• Holiday pay accrued unless PAYE Advanced is selected
