Job summary

Driver Hire Edinburgh City is actively recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 drivers to join our network for Edinburgh and surrounding areas. You can pick up extra shifts, fit around commitments or secure regular ad-hoc work with flexible start times and shift lengths.

Typical duties include multi-drop deliveries, general haulage and palletised distribution, with daily vehicle checks and adherence to safety rules. PAYE and PAYE Advanced options apply, with weekly pay and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred.
• Maximum of 9 penalty points.
• No DD, DR, CD or IN endorsements.
• Comfortable with manual handling duties.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Safety-conscious attitude.
• Flexible and willing to work different assignments.

Responsibilities

• Multi-drop deliveries and collections.
• General haulage and palletised distribution.
• Deliveries to commercial, industrial and customer sites.
• Loading and unloading goods where required.
• Working independently or with a Driver’s Mate.
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects.

Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 (Category C) Drivers to join our team and work with a variety of well-established clients across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

Whether you’re looking to pick up extra shifts, work around existing commitments or build up regular ad-hoc work, we have a range of assignments available to suit your availability.

The Role

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your work will vary depending on the assignment. You could be completing multi-drop deliveries, general haulage, palletised distribution or collections for a range of local businesses.

Duties may include:

• Multi-drop deliveries and collections
• General haulage and palletised distribution
• Deliveries to commercial, industrial and customer sites
• Loading and unloading goods where required
• Working independently or alongside a Driver’s Mate
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects
• Following road transport legislation and health & safety procedures
• Providing a professional and reliable service to customers

With a variety of clients and assignments available, no two shifts are necessarily the same!

• Flexible ad-hoc shifts
• Monday to Friday work available
• Typical start times between 6:00am and 11:00am, depending on the assignment
• Typical shift lengths of 8–12 hours
• Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
• Additional work available during busy periods and holiday cover

Monday to Friday

PAYE

• £14.50 per hour
• £19.32 per hour after 8 hours

PAYE Advanced

• £16.25 per hour
• £21.66 per hour after 8 hours

What We’re Looking For
