Job summary

Bournemouth Water is seeking a Valve & Strategic Asset Technician to help maintain the drinking water network's integrity, reliability, and performance. You will inspect, operate, and service a range of strategic assets, supporting planned and reactive maintenance with partners and teams to ensure safe, continuous water supply.

The role requires independent work, collaboration with field teams, and a strong focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Experience in water utilities or a similar network environment.
Ability to maintain assets, buildings and infrastructure.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational and workload prioritisation skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience delivering work to deadlines and targets.
Ability to remain calm under pressure during incidents.
Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on strategic water network assets.
Inspect, maintain, and service air valves, control valves, pressure-reducing valves, and fittings.
Support operation and maintenance of reservoirs, pump stations, buildings and sites.
Undertake reservoir cleaning and assist with asset condition assessments.
Operate inspection equipment including CCTV and ROV where required.
Support activities to maintain network reliability and minimise disruption.
