The Role

The Valuation Business Line is a key part of the Sheffield office, servicing a broad spectrum of clients including corporate owners and occupiers, banks, lenders, investors, institutions, and the public sector across Yorkshire and Humberside, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and Lancashire.

We are seeking a valuer at Surveyor level to support service delivery and business development, reporting directly to the team leader. The role involves conducting valuation work across commercial and residential sectors, including development appraisals. Familiarity with valuation software such as Argus Developer and Argus Investor is preferred, with training available.

The position can be based in Sheffield or Leeds and requires regular contact with other UK valuation teams within a national service line. The ideal candidate will have a degree, be a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with valuation experience, and ideally be a Registered Valuer.

Responsibilities

1. Executing valuation engagements from instruction to completion, with support from junior and senior staff.
2. Managing client relationships daily.
3. Preparing reports, valuations, and submissions, with guidance on complex issues.
4. Building and maintaining relationships with clients and prospects.
5. Identifying new business opportunities.
6. Contributing to the team’s fee targets.
7. Managing instructions or parts of major projects.
8. Enhancing BNP Paribas Real Estate’s reputation through successful delivery.
9. Improving standards, techniques, and procedures.
10. Advising and guiding graduates and administrative staff.
11. Sharing knowledge with colleagues and the wider team.
12. Providing coaching, development, and conducting appraisals as a line manager.

Requirements

• Degree-level education.
• Knowledge of Argus/KEL or similar valuation software (training available).

Experience

• Proven delivery in the UK Real Estate market within a consultancy or client context, preferably focused on valuation.
• Experience managing a varied workload.
• Working knowledge of valuation software like Argus/KEL.
