Job summary

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust is looking for a Registered Health Care Professional to join the Vaccination and Rapid Response Team. The role involves delivering vaccinations, conducting clinical assessments, and contributing to disease prevention across Lincolnshire.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience.
• Registered Health Care Professional: registered nurse, pharmacist or paramedic.
• Non-Medical prescriber qualification or willingness to work towards.
• Practical skills and knowledge of cold chain procedures and medicines management.
• Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising workloads.
• Community nursing experience.
• Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection legislation and information governance requirements.
• Knowledge of vaccination and immunisation schedules in accordance with national recommendations.
• Working knowledge of word processing, internet, email and electronic record keeping.
• Experience of working as part of multi-disciplinary team.
• Previous experience in a similar clinical role.
• Previous experience of teaching and assessing in clinical practice.
• Previous experience of disease prevention and health promotion.

Responsibilities

• Enable the delivery of vaccinations by coordinating site activity and day-to-day vaccination programmes.
• Ensure clinic rooms and equipment are available at the start of each session.
• Administer vaccinations across all age groups in various settings.
• Record all clinical assessments, care and treatment; escalate concerns promptly.
• Conduct clinical assessments within vaccination activity and health promotion.
• Respond to low-level disease outbreaks to manage risk and transmission.
• Administer pre and post exposure prophylaxis and treatment for outbreaks.
• Conduct patient assessments, testing, and treatment under PGDs; document in records.
