Job summary

NHS Supply Chain is seeking a UX/UI Manager to lead the overall UX/UI strategy and design process, ensuring intuitive, user-centered web and mobile experiences. The role involves guiding a team, collaborating with product managers and developers, and driving accessibility and inclusive design across digital channels.

The position offers hybrid working with two days on-site in Nottingham, a starting salary of £60,994 rising to £71,758 over three years, and a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s in design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent qualifications.
• 5+ years in UX/UI or product design with leadership experience.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, InVision or Axure).
• Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and usability best practices.
• Experience in agile development and leading design teams across complex transactional sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of user-centered experiences aligning user needs with business goals.
• Oversee the UX/UI design process from research to testing and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Manage a team of UX/UI designers (perm and contractors) and foster a collaborative culture.
• Define project requirements with product managers and developers, prioritise features, and ensure design integration.
• Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure consistency and best practices.
• Stay updated on UX/UI trends and advocate innovative design approaches.
