This role sits within the Research Team, which itself is part of the Design & Customer Experience (DCE) Team primarily based in London but with potential to cover other EU markets. As a UX Researcher within International Consumer Banking, you will be at the heart of this venture, focused on getting smart ideas into the hands of our customers. You have a curious mindset, thrive in collaborative squads, and are passionate about new technology. By your nature, you are also solution-oriented, commercially savvy and have a head for fintech. You thrive working in tribes and squads that focus on delivering specific products and projects.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Conduct user research in a given product area and work closely with Design, Content, Product and Engineering
  2. Advocate and provide guidance on how to use customer insights and data to inform decisions
  3. Present and communicate user research and recommendations to the larger organisation
  4. Contribute to best practices, research methodologies and frameworks to drive efficiency across the organisation
  5. Be an advocate for the customer and foster a shared understanding of a customer-first approach in the organization
  6. Work with Design, Product, and other Researchers to prioritise research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  7. Contribute to and advise on research plans and overall user research strategy and methods
  8. Manage and conduct generative and evaluative research
  9. Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences
  10. Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience in roles as a user/UX researcher
  • Experience in a wide range of exploratory and evaluative research methods
  • Experience with user research methods in product and/or service development
  • Experience scaling research processes and defining best practices
  • Passion for championing the customer; In-depth understanding of UX, UI, design
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate research insights to different stakeholders
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross-functional environment
  • Develops and sustains effective and cooperative working relationships with peers, managers, and other stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Additional language skills are a plus
  • Strong senior stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in retail banking, fintech, or similar areas is a plus
