Job summary

Gold Group in Crawley is seeking an UX Development Manager to lead the global UX Development team, oversee front-end development, and own the Design System (ECL) and Component Library to ensure consistent and high-quality products.

The role requires 4 days per week in the office, with no visa sponsorship available. You will mentor staff, prioritise resources, and collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to drive measurable business impact.

Qualifications

Degree in computer science, software engineering, human-computer interaction, or a similar relevant field.
8+ years' experience as a Senior/Lead UX Developer in a domain of complex products and services.
2+ years' experience in managing a UX/ Front-end Development team with people management responsibilities.
Experience in front-end software and/or business web/mobile applications.
Experience developing and managing a component library or design system.
Understanding regulatory constraints, ideally in medical devices.
Delivery of large, complex projects end-to-end.
Case studies showing user-centred design and measurable business impact.
Good understanding of Agile principles and practices (Scrum, Kanban).
Influential leadership and cross-functional stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

Line-manage a team of UX Developers, including hiring, performance management and career development.
Prioritise team resources to maximise UX/product quality, efficiency and business impact.
Develop and maintain relationships with Product and Engineering leaders; manage stakeholder expectations.
Support evangelising user-centred design and communicate impactful case studies.
Maintain awareness of related UX&D domains to sell broader team skills.
Mentor colleagues on UX/UI and front-end development best practices.
Oversee front-end development and support activities for key product lines.
Lead Design System and Component Library ownership (ECL) and promote adoption.
