Job summary

DWP Digital is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to lead the development of reusable patterns and components that power the Design System across government services. This role emphasizes accessibility, scalable front-end architecture, and collaboration with back-end teams.

Qualifications

• Design and deliver accessible, user-centred interfaces meeting WCAG 2.2 with robust, maintainable code.
• Integrate front-end with back-end services and other systems, selecting appropriate tech to solve complex challenges.
• Provide technical leadership, set direction and drive quality and best practices across teams.
• Lead multidisciplinary agile teams to deliver high-quality digital products.
• Mentor others and foster an inclusive learning culture for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of reusable front-end patterns and components.
• Shape the technical direction of the Design System and contribute to cross-government standards.
• Build, release, maintain and support front-end products with modern tooling and TDD.
• Champion accessibility and ensure WCAG 2.2 AA alignment.
• Mentor colleagues and engage with engineering and user-centred design communities.
