Job summary

Network Plus group is seeking a Utility Arborist to deliver first-class arboriculture services near overhead transmission and distribution networks. The role emphasises safety, teamwork, and working on varied sites as part of Environmental Solutions Plus.

The position is office-based in Hermitage with travel to Aldershot and Reading areas. SSE-related authorisations are a plus; driving licence is required. Competitive salary and full benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Utility arboriculture experience.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence (B+E an advantage).
• UA301-UA305 units completed.
• CS30/CS31/CS38/CS39/CS40 certifications (any additional are advantageous).
• Experience working on the SSE Utility Tree Contract.
• Desirable SSE authorisations and permit holders.
• Office based in Hermitage with coverage of Aldershot and Reading areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a team-based arboriculture program safely and to schedule.
• Meet delivery targets and standby rota for faults out of hours.
• Understand industry legislation and safety guidelines near power lines.
• Work within compliance standards and client requirements on site.
• Collaborate with the delivery team to track and complete work as required.
• Maintain a professional, autonomous work approach while delivering first-class service.

Description

As a Utility Arborist, using your technical expertise, you will deliver a first-class service to our customers with safety being paramount. Your role will be to clear trees and vegetation in proximity to our customers overhead transmission and distribution network. Working with safety at the forefront of all activities, you will work with your team to evaluate, prepare and carry out tree cutting works on a variety of sites. This role sits within our arboriculture and infrastructure vegetation management division Environmental Solutions Plus. ESP has an excellent reputation for the safe and efficient delivery of arboriculture and infrastructure vegetation management services. Operating Nationally from our Ledbury headquarters, we work across a number of strategic, long term contracts with leading utility and infrastructure asset owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Work within a team of arborists to deliver a work programme
• Be motivated to achieve delivery targets
• Attend faults out of hours as part of standby rota
• Understand the relevant industry legislation and safety guidelines associated with carrying out arboricultural work within the proximity of power lines
• Work within the compliance standards set by our internal policy and client expectations
• Work with the wider delivery team to ensure work is tracked and completed according to the client’s requirements
• Enjoy working autonomously, always focused on delivering a first-class service with a professional manner

Experience and Qualifications

• Utility arboriculture experience
• Hold a valid UK driving licence (B+E an advantage)
• Utility arb units UA301, UA302, UA303, UA304, UA305
• Chainsaw units: CS30 (201/202), CS31 (203), CS38 (206/306), CS39 (308), CS40 (307) (any in addition to this will be an advantage)
• Working specifically on the SSE Utility Tree Contract.
• Desirable - Previous SSE authorisations and permit holders.
• Office based in Hermitage, facilitating the Aldershot and Reading areas specifically.
