Job summary

EKFB is recruiting an Utilities Section Engineer to join the HS2 utility design and construction team in the UK. You will coordinate labour, plant and materials, and work closely with the Designer, Statutory Undertaker and site team to ensure timely, quality utility works.

You will manage site setting-out, oversee subcontractor performance, produce programmes and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting while adhering to GS6/HSG47 procedures and HAUC/HS2 standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering utility projects with Statutory Undertakers in power, water, gas, or telecoms.
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Strong IT skills with MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with Site Engineers, Foremen, Supervisors, and site-based workforce.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities and construction supervision.
  • Understanding of Overhead (GS6) and Underground (HSG47) procedures and constraints when working around multi-utilities.
  • Knowledge of Statutory Undertakers safety and control procedures.
  • Familiarity with GIS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate labour, plant and materials to deliver utility works to standard, programme and budget.
  • Manage site setting‑out and monitor subcontractors’ performance.
  • Assist in producing programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and forecasting.
  • Complete quality audits and review 'as-built' records.
