A leading company in the utilities sector is seeking a motivated Utilities Project Manager based in Milton Keynes. The role involves coordinating utilities engagements and designs, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring effective project delivery. This position offers a contract for an initial 9 months with the opportunity to contribute to significant infrastructure projects.

Job description

Utilities Project Manager, Milton Keynes

Location: Milton Keynes (Must be in the office minimum of 2 days per week)

Duration: Initial 9 months contract

Role Summary:

Coordination of multiple Utilities engagements, diversionary works designs, and their construction phasing at Tempsford.

Team: Reporting to Utilities Programme Manager

Responsibilities and accountabilities:
  • Utilities engagement (notably NGET, Anglian Water, UKPN, Openreach, Cadent Gas) for the Tempsford area of the EWR Core route (CS3).
  • Engage and coordinate with the EWR Design teams.
  • Engage and coordinate with the EWR Area Project Managers.
  • Establish the key Utilities diversionary works designs.
  • Interface with critical third-party stakeholders (notably National Highways and Network Rail).
  • Establish the sequencing programme for coordination and phasing.
  • Work with the planner to establish and present high-level logistical planning for Utilities works, integrating with enabling and main civils works.
  • Establish and own the critical path for this Utility programme.
  • Support the wider EWR Utilities Team.
  • Report and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Manage contractual Utilities service provisions (feasibility studies, design delivery, planning, etc.).
Experience and skills:

You will be a motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, excellent organisational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Sound working knowledge of the Utilities sectors.
  • Design and programme coordination skills.
Education and qualifications:

Must have (essential skills):

  • CDM 2015 training.
  • Project management training.
