Job Description:

We are seeking a User Researcher for a permanent role with a leading global IT consultancy. The position offers up to £55,000 per annum, with remote working and occasional client visits. The successful candidate will work with a public sector client, with a focus on user-centred design and GDS experience.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Developers, and other Researchers to plan and conduct impactful research.
• Contribute to the development of user-centric products and services.
• Lead research initiatives, selecting appropriate methodologies.
• Conduct qualitative studies including interviews, observations, diary studies, and usability testing.
• Utilize quantitative methods like surveys and collaborate with analytics teams.
• Consider the entire user journey and external factors affecting UX.
• Communicate findings effectively and involve teams in analysis to foster empathy and evidence-based decisions.
• Embed user research best practices within teams and the wider organization.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in leading user research with behavioral and attitudinal methods.
• Experience across various product lifecycle phases.
• Knowledge of GDS service standards and design principles.
• Strong storytelling, communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
• Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams influencing product design through insights.
• Familiarity with prototyping and testing hypotheses.
• Understanding of tools and practices for in-person and remote research.
