Job description

Role:

As a Used Car Buyer, reporting to the Used Car Manager, you will work within the Group Sales Operations Department to ensure PRG achieves its pre-owned targets. You will optimize PRG's pre-owned stock holding by making considered purchases to maximize stock levels, stock turn, model mix, and price profile, while guarding against averaging units. You will have access to data reporting trends and demands, which you will use to target purchases from your developed network of motor trade relationships to source stock.

Responsibilities:

1. Sourcing and purchasing an agreed volume of Porsche vehicles via trade contacts and private sellers.
2. Ensuring purchases meet the agreed standards by using the approved appraisal process to drive group profitability.
3. Arranging for vehicles to be repatriated to the most appropriate Porsche Centers within the group.
4. Building relationships with Centre Management Teams to secure a reliable supply of used vehicle purchase leads and to understand their specific customer demand to ensure appropriate stock levels.
5. Staying informed about current used car market conditions, including pricing, demand, and availability.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Full Driving License – minimum 2 years, age 21 and above (due to Insurance Policy).
2. Previous experience in a car buying role.
3. Proven negotiation skills and excellent communication abilities.
4. Strong accounting and financial knowledge.
5. Expert car knowledge and market awareness – makes, models, pricing, and local market trends.

1. Franchised luxury automotive retail background.
2. Flexible working arrangements when required.
3. Maintaining supplier relationships.
4. Excellent attention to detail.
