SRM Recruitment has been retained by a reputable, London-headquartered M&A Insurance Underwriter, who is expanding their US tax, transactional risk business in the UK. As part of their strategic growth plan, they are now looking to recruit an experienced US-qualified Tax specialist with strong M&A experience to join as a Tax Insurance Underwriter.

Responsibilities:

  1. Handle the entire underwriting process, focusing on the US market, including confidentiality agreements, preparing non-binding indications, drafting policies, negotiating contract terms, and preparing underwriting requests.
  2. Issue policy documents.
  3. Establish and develop relationships with international brokers and clients.
  4. Build relationships with law firms across different jurisdictions.

Requirements:

  1. Be a US-qualified tax specialist with either a legal or CPA qualification, due to the jurisdictional focus of the role.
  2. Possess a degree in law, commercial law, business administration, or a related M&A environment, e.g., Corporate finance in the Big 4 or Banking.
  3. Demonstrate strong customer orientation, decision-making skills, persuasiveness, motivation, and resilience.
  4. Show proven team skills, responsibility, and adaptability when dealing with a wide range of technical issues.
