This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bricklayer or someone with a background in construction who has experience of supporting, training or teaching bricklaying and is looking to take on a teaching role within a college environment.

The Role

  • Support students in developing their practical bricklaying skills and construction knowledge.
  • Demonstrate correct bricklaying techniques, methods and safe working practices.
  • Provide guidance, encouragement and support to learners of varying abilities.
  • Help maintain a safe, organised and productive workshop environment.
  • Work split shifts across the week to meet the college's timetable requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Has practical experience and a good working knowledge of bricklaying.
  • Has previous experience of teaching, training, mentoring or supporting others in bricklaying.
  • Is confident demonstrating practical skills and engaging with post-16 learners.
  • Has good communication skills and the ability to motivate and encourage students.
  • Is reliable, flexible and passionate about helping others develop their skills.
  • Candidates holding relevant industry, construction or teaching qualifications will also be considered.
  • Teaching qualifications are not essential for this position. The college is particularly interested in candidates who have strong industry experience and have previously supported or taught bricklaying, whether in a formal teaching environment or through workplace training and mentoring. Candidates with other relevant qualifications and transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.
What We Offer
  • Competitive rates of pay.
  • Part-time hours across the week, working split shifts.
  • A long-term opportunity, initially running until at least Christmas, with the potential to continue beyond this.
  • The opportunity to work within an established Further Education college.
  • Dedicated support from Aspire People throughout your placement.
  • The opportunity to work with a well-established, credible and trusted recruitment agency, accredited by the GCA.

If you have a background in bricklaying and experience of supporting or teaching others, we would love to hear from you.
