Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced highway design professional in London or Leeds to contribute to major development sites, urban streets and public spaces. The role focuses on delivering safe, sustainable and efficient traffic movements for public and private sector clients.

You will collaborate with Associates and Directors, using AutoCAD and Civils 3D, while developing project management skills and engaging with stakeholders across projects and locations.

Qualifications

• Experience in highway and public space design.
• Understanding of highways and traffic engineering principles.
• Ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Balance of technical design with societal and political context.

Responsibilities

• Undertake highway and public space design drawing on highways knowledge.
• Use AutoCAD and Civils 3D to prepare drawings and reports for varied audiences.
• Develop project management skills as the role progresses.
• Work within multi-disciplinary teams including external subconsultants.
• Provide clients with informed advice and integrate outputs into deliverables.
• Liaise effectively with clients and external stakeholders.
• Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• Hold or work towards professional/academic qualifications in engineering.
