Job summary

Foster + Partners in London is seeking an Urban Designer to help shape the cities of tomorrow. You will contribute to innovative, people-focused environments within our interdisciplinary Urban Design Group, collaborating with planning, landscape architecture and spatial design and beyond to create thoughtful design solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting urban design, masterplanning or related design projects.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly through written, verbal, 2D and 3D formats.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with excellent organisational skills.
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in design and presentation tools, with experience of GIS, Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign viewed favourably.

Description

As an Urban Designer at Foster + Partners, you will contribute to the creation of innovative, people-focused environments that shape the future of cities and communities. Working within our interdisciplinary Urban Design Group, you will collaborate with specialists across planning, landscape architecture, spatial design and beyond to develop thoughtful design solutions, transform research into compelling visual narratives and help deliver impactful projects at a range of scales.

This role is ideal if you want to:

• Work on a diverse range of projects spanning strategic planning, urban design and landscape architecture.
• Collaborate with experts from multiple disciplines in a highly creative environment.
• Turn research, analysis and insights into engaging design solutions and visual stories.
• Develop urban design concepts that create meaningful social and environmental impact.
• Build your skills across the full design process, from early-stage analysis through to project delivery.
