Job summary

Crawley Borough Council is seeking a Biodiversity Project Officer to drive Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and habitat improvement across the borough. You will work with planning, parks and sustainability teams to embed nature recovery in development and planning processes, with hands-on field work and engagement with local partners.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of biodiversity and habitat management.
• Experience with ecological planning and policy development.
• Ability to apply Biodiversity Net Gain metrics and ecological surveys.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of Biodiversity Net Gain plans for council developments.
• Coordinate biodiversity surveys or commission external surveys as needed.
• Develop and monitor biodiversity action plans for Crawley sites.
