Job summary

Lawes Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Broker Technician to join its Upstream Energy team in London. You will provide technical support across the full insurance placement lifecycle, working with brokers, underwriters and international stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include handling MRCs and market documentation, assisting with complex international energy programmes and ensuring contract certainty while maintaining FCA compliance and accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Broker Technician or similar technical role within the Lloyd's or London insurance market.
• Experience within Upstream Energy, Offshore Energy or related specialty insurance class is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the Upstream Energy broking team across new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments.
• Prepare and review Market Reform Contracts (MRCs), slips, endorsements and policy documentation.
• Assist with placement and administration of complex international energy insurance programmes.
• Liaise with Lloyd's and London Market underwriters to ensure accurate processing of documentation.
• Review policy wordings, coverage terms, conditions and endorsements for accuracy and contract certainty.
• Manage premium processing, including signing instructions and debit notes.
• Maintain accurate client and placement records in line with FCA requirements.
• Support brokers with underwriting submissions, schedules and renewal documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high standards of service.
