Eaton is seeking a UPS Commissioning Engineer to support the UK South region, based near Aldridge. You will commission large UPS systems, perform on-site acceptance testing, and configure remote monitoring software to ensure reliability and safety.

The role requires three-phase electrical expertise, UPS knowledge, and familiarity with Modbus and TCP/IP networks. Join Eaton’s dynamic, international team and contribute to hyperscale data centres with strong safety standards.

Formación

• Educated to HNC or higher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Three-phase electrical installation or maintenance knowledge required.
• Experience with UPS systems preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Commission large UPS systems on client sites.
• Understand and script commissioning procedures.
• Perform site acceptance testing on customer sites.
• Configure remote monitoring software and dashboards.

In the UK, our Electrical division plays a critical role in supporting customers across key industries, including rapidly growing hyperscale data centre environments.

We are now looking for a number of UPS Commissioning Engineers to join our UK team, supporting South East region. In this role, you will provide expert service to Eaton customers by commissioning large UPS systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in line with Eaton's safety standards. You will play a key role supporting hyperscale data centres, delivering high-quality technical expertise across commissioning, testing and system configuration.

Candidates need to be based within South of the UK.

What you'll do

• Commissioning of large UPS systems.
• Ability to understand on-line and line-interactive UPS systems.
• Ability to understand and create commissioning scripts.
• Carry out site acceptance testing on customer sites.
• Ability to use and understand power quality meters.
• Experience in thermography and reporting.
• Battery experience - VRLA and Lithium Ion.
• You will setup and configure remote monitoring software.
• You will communicate with key stakeholders on a technical level.
• Applies anti-static policies and procedures.
• Applies ECN process to all repairs.

Qualifications

Educated to a HNC or higher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent

Skills

• Possessing three phase electrical installation or maintenance knowledge
• A good understanding of UPS systems is preferred
• Knowledgeable of industrial communication protocols such as: Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE , TCP/IP
• Knowledgeable of programming of PLC control systems (power control, generator control, SCADA or process control)
