Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking an Instrumental Music Instructor to teach upper strings across a network of schools in Edinburgh. This fixed-term post runs until 23 April 2027 and involves delivering engaging lessons to both primary and secondary pupils, within a dynamic and supportive music service.

You will need proven experience in instrumental teaching, the ability to cover all upper strings instruments, knowledge of the current curriculum and exam preparation, and a track record of

• Experience in instrumental teaching across upper strings.
• Ability to teach all upper strings instruments to a high standard.
• Sound knowledge of the current curriculum and exam preparation (SQA and external).
• Experience of working with groups and ensembles.
