Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking an experienced Instrumental Music Instructor (Upper Strings) on a fixed term until 23/04/2027. The role covers teaching across various Edinburgh schools and requires PVG clearance and an overseas criminal record check if applicable.

Salary: £37,878 - £50,346 (pro-rata for part-time). Hours: 15.40 per week. You will help pupils prepare for SQA/external exams and contribute to ensembles, within a supportive music service.

Qualifications

• Experience in instrumental teaching at school level.
• Ability to teach all upper strings instruments to a high standard.
• Sound knowledge of current curriculum and SQA/external exams preparation.

Responsibilities

• Teach upper strings lessons across Edinburgh's primary and secondary schools.
• Provide high-quality learning experiences for all pupils.
• Work with groups and ensembles to develop performance skills.
