Job description

Harborne Primary School is a vibrant, inclusive and ambitious school split across two sites - Station Road and Court Oak Road - serving 808 wonderful pupils.

An exciting opportunity to join Harborne Primary School during a rapid phase of school improvement. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Early Career Teacher to join our Upper Key Stage 2 team, bringing ambition, creativity and a passion for helping every child succeed. Join us as we strengthen teaching and learning and shape an exciting future for our school community.

We are also delighted to share that Harborne Primary School has joined the Elliot Foundation Academy Trust. Becoming part of this respected and collaborative trust will further enhance our capacity for rapid school improvement and academic excellence. We look forward to the benefits of high‑quality professional networks, robust leadership development and enhanced support that will help us continue to secure the very best outcomes for our pupils.

About the role:

This role involves delivering high‑quality teaching through careful planning, assessment and ongoing monitoring of pupils’ progress, in line with national and school expectations. You will work collaboratively within a supportive and solution‑focused team, benefiting from joint PPA time that enables shared planning, consistency across the curriculum and rich professional dialogue. As part of our commitment to staff development, you will have access to a wide‑ranging CPD programme aligned with both school priorities and your individual career aspirations. You will also be encouraged to engage with strong regional and national teacher networks, offering opportunities to share best practice and stay connected to current educational research. In addition to your classroom responsibilities, you will contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral work, enrichment activities and community engagement, while upholding high professional standards in safeguarding, behaviour and the school’s values.

We Can Offer You

At Harborne Primary School, you will be welcomed into a warm, friendly and dedicated staff team who are united by a shared commitment to giving every child an exceptional educational experience. We place great importance on professional growth and offer high‑quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including leadership pathways that support both current aspirations and future ambitions. Our positive, child‑centred ethos ensures that pupils are respected, celebrated and encouraged to excel. You will join a values‑driven community where collaboration, wellbeing and a deep belief in the potential of every child are at the heart of everything we do.

Harborne Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and demonstrate eligibility to work in the UK. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to equality of opportunity.
