Travail Employment Group are recruiting an experienced Upholsterer for a Northampton-based role. You will work in a fast-paced production environment to deliver high-quality upholstery across the full product range.

The job requires practical upholstery skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to work to daily production targets. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm, with a pay rate of £13.50 per hour and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous upholstery experience, including gluing and fabric application.
• Strong eye for detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Comfortable using a variety of upholstery tools and equipment.
• Good practical and manual skills.
• Physically capable of lifting, pulling, moving and manipulating materials.
• Reliable and hardworking attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach and willingness to support the wider production team when required.

Responsibilities

• Upholster products to the highest quality standards across the product range.
• Follow daily production plans to ensure work is completed efficiently and on schedule.
• Fit webbing into seats and prepare frames for upholstery.
• Cover frames with fabric using stitching, stapling, tacking and gluing.
• Use upholstery tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain excellent attention to detail throughout the production process.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth production operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and product quality.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and detail-oriented Upholsterer on behalf of our client, a company specialising in high-quality upholstered products.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical upholstery skills who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring products are completed to a consistently high standard and in line with daily production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Upholstering products across the company's full product range to the highest quality standards.
• Following daily production plans to ensure work is completed efficiently and on schedule.
• Fitting webbing into seats and preparing frames for upholstery.
• Covering frames with fabric using a variety of techniques, including stitching, stapling, tacking and gluing.
• Using upholstery tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintaining excellent attention to detail throughout the production process.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of production operations.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and product quality.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.

Pay, Hours and Benefits

Pay rate: £13.50 per hour.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm.

Overtime: Time and a quarter during the week and time and a half at weekends.

Annual leave: 25 days' holiday plus 8 bank holidays.

Christmas shutdown period.
