Job summary

AMA Admin in partnership with a specialist secondary school in Birtley seeks a confident and enthusiastic Unqualified Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis.

Working with students at risk of or who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school, you will cover planned lessons for KS3/KS4, manage behaviour, and support learners to stay engaged, complete tasks, and meet lesson objectives throughout 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Graduate or aspiring teacher seeking classroom experience.
• Strong behaviour management skills are essential.
• Experience with students at risk of exclusion is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

We are working in partnership with a specialist secondary school in Birtley that is seeking a confident and enthusiastic Unqualified Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis.

Within this role, you will be working with students who are at risk of or have been permanently excluded from mainstream school. Strong behaviour management is essential in this role.

This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, tutors, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a specialist secondary school setting.

The position is due to start as soon as possible and offers the opportunity for a long-term placement with potential permanent opportunities.

Working hours are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

About the Role

As an Unqualified Teacher, you will lead lessons during the absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged, focused, and on task with the work provided. You will be responsible for maintaining high expectations of behaviour, supporting student learning, and creating a positive classroom environment.

You will work across a variety of subject areas and year groups, gaining valuable experience within a supportive secondary school environment.
