Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Basildon is seeking Cover Supervisors to support partner secondary schools across Basildon, Wickford and Southend. This role is not a teaching post but involves supervising classes during teacher absences and delivering pre-planned work.

Ideal candidates will be confident communicators with a strong classroom presence, reliable and punctual, able to commute between sites, and comfortable with early-morning bookings.

Unqualified Teacher / Cover Supervisor – South Essex (Basildon, Wickford & Southend)

We are looking for reliable, confident and adaptable individuals to join our partner secondary schools across Basildon, Wickford and Southend as Cover Supervisors.

This role is ideal for someone looking to gain school experience, start a career in teaching, or work flexibly across multiple schools.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with pre-set work. This is not a teaching role, but you will need to be confident managing a classroom and supporting students throughout the lesson.

The work is primarily short-term and day-to-day, with bookings often coming in at short notice. However, there are also opportunities for long-term placements for the right candidate.
