The school supports Key Stage 3 & 4 pupils aged 11-18 with Special Educational Needs, Emotional needs and Challenging Behaviour. The school is currently seeking both full-time and part-time members of staff to join their team of educators.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who require additional support in their educational journey!

The School:

The school caters for a wide range of Additional Learning Needs.

Pupils are taught within small year group classes, usually not exceeding more than 10 pupils per class, with generous staffing related to the specific needs of the class consisting of a teacher with a team of Learning Support Assistants.

The school aims to promote and develop pupils' learning, self-esteem, behaviour and confidence by providing rich and individualised learning opportunities for them to develop their skills and understanding, and create an exciting school community which is child-centred, empowering and inclusive.

The role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be required to support the young people in both their personal and educational development based on their individual development plan. This will be provided to you by the school via their assessment process to help aid you in how to support the young person. The support will be both in and outside the classroom as sensory and practical lessons are hugely relied on to make an impact in the school.

Providing a positive mental attitude and promoting independence within the school will be essential to ensure a strong relationship is built with both you and the young person, as well as creating a positive correlation between the young person and education.

You will be provided training to ensure you are in a confident position to support the young people. This will be provided from both Teaching Personnel and the school.

What do I need to apply for this role?
  • Enhanced DBS on the update Service (We can help you apply!)
  • Education Workforce Council application (We can help you apply!)
  • Have the ability to get to Cardiff area during the time of 8:30 – 3:00
