Job description

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Unix Engineer – SC Cleared.

This role will be Inside of IR35, so you will be required to use an FCSA Accredited Umbrella Company.

Must not have been outside of the UK for more than 28 consecutive days in the last 5 years.

Key Requirements

• The UNIX Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise UNIX environments, focusing on Oracle Solaris platforms and advanced virtualization technologies.
• This role involves system configuration, migration projects, and ensuring high availability through resilient cluster setups.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Oracle Solaris systems on T-series hardware (T5, T7, T8).
• Configure and manage LDOMs (Logical Domains) for virtualization.
• Perform system migrations and upgrades across UNIX environments.
• Design and implement resilience clusters for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex UNIX issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Maintain compliance with security and operational standards.

Key Experience

• Strong hands on experience with Oracle Solaris operating systems.
• Expertise in LDOM configuration and management.
• Familiarity with Oracle T-series hardware (T5, T7, T8).
• Proven experience in migration projects and UNIX system upgrades.
