Job summary

Val Wade Recruitment is seeking a Facilities Operations Manager for a World Class University Estates department. The role focuses on soft services including cleaning, janitorial, portering and waste management, with 35 hours per week on an ongoing temporary basis.

You will lead FM Supervisors, manage CAFM systems such as MiCAD, and maintain safety standards while delivering KPI reports and coordinating with suppliers across a large multi-building estate.

Qualifications

• Seasoned facilities management experience in soft services.
• Strong leadership of multi-building estates and teams.
• Proven contractor and supplier management.
• Solid knowledge of COSHH, RAMS and risk assessments.
• BICSc trainer qualification or similar advantage.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and manage cleaning, janitorial and portering services to required standards.
• Lead FM Supervisors and coordinate with the Head of Facilities Management.
• Oversee deep cleaning, events, summer schools, and seasonal work.
• Act as escalation point for incidents and customer concerns.
• Ensure CAFM usage (MiCAD) for job assignments and SLA compliance.
• Produce KPI reports and manage budget information.
• Coordinate waste management and sustainability initiatives.
