Job summary

Barchester Healthcare Homes Limited is seeking a Unit Nurse Manager (General) to lead a care unit, plan rotas, recruit and mentor staff, and ensure delivery of high-quality nursing care with person-centred plans.

The role requires an RGN with current NMC registration, strong governance, and experience in risk assessments, regulatory knowledge, and preceptorship support for newly qualified nurses.

Qualifications

• RGN with current NMC registration.
• Experience in producing well-developed care plans and detailed risk assessments.
• Knowledge of DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Proven leadership and mentorship of nurses through preceptorship.

Responsibilities

• Plan rotas and manage staffing to ensure safe care.
• Recruit, train and mentor staff across the unit.
• Deliver person-centred care plans and monitor outcomes.
• Liaise with regulators and social services to maintain compliance.
