Main duties of the job

As a Unit Manager (Non-Clinical), you will be responsible for monitoring standards of care, ensuring the well-being of each resident, and leading the person-centered care planning process. You will act as a key point of contact for residents, their relatives, and healthcare professionals, responding to any concerns or complaints. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional care.

About the role

Your focus as a Unit Manager (Non-Clinical) will be to support the care home management team in delivering high-quality care by providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Other responsibilities will include:
  • Monitoring standards of care delivered by staff through observation, audit, and direct involvement.
  • Monitoring the well-being of each resident, being aware of any changes impacting care, and ensuring care plans are updated accordingly.
  • Leading the person-centred care planning process by implementing, monitoring, and evaluating care plans, completing audits, and developing action plans.
  • Acting as a key contact point for residents, relatives, visitors, and health and social care professionals, ensuring concerns are addressed and escalated when necessary.
Qualifications and experience
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with the resident group.
  • Knowledge of the CQC Fundamental Standards.
  • Ability to lead staff and act responsibly in the absence of the manager.
