Job summary

Leeds City College is recruiting a Teacher of Uniformed Public Services to join our team, delivering inspiring sessions to prepare learners for careers in uniformed services. We seek someone with career experience in Uniformed Public Services, including Armed Forces or Emergency Services, who can share expertise to help learners succeed.

The role supports over 400 students on Level 1–3 courses, emphasizing self-discipline, communication, problem-solving and teamwork via practical experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their optimum.
• Passion for subjects relating to emergency services and the armed forces.
• Relevant up-to-date subject knowledge from working in the services or recent delivery in FE/school sector.
• Recent teaching delivery demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
• Ability to be adaptable and flexible towards different learner needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop learners to make positive progress towards their career goals whilst developing skills and qualities that ensure they have successful outcomes.
• Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, and learning and assessment plans.
• Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
• Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
• Be responsible for recording student progress and adapt curriculum delivery methods to maximise effectiveness, including through the use of technology.
