Job summary

The University of Cambridge invites applications for a part-time Teaching Associate in the Faculty of Classics. The role is 0.6 FTE and fixed for 24 months from 01 January 2027, or as soon as possible.

The post focuses on intensive Greek and Latin teaching for entrants without A level qualifications. Successful applicants will also participate in Pre-term IG language teaching and act as marker/assessor of language papers across the Tripos.

Job description

The Faculty of Classics is seeking to appoint a part time (0.6 FTE) Teaching Associate from 01 January 2027 (or as soon as possible). The role will be fixed term for 24 months due to limited funding.

The post offers an opportunity for early career starters to increase their skills through a role in a vibrant and distinguished community of Classicists. Applications are invited from those with an interest in teaching Ancient Greek and Latin. The teaching will principally involve intensive reading classes in Greek and Latin for students without A level qualification or equivalent at entry. The successful applicant will also be expected to take a full part in the Pre-term IG language teaching and as marker and/or assessor of language papers across the Tripos.
