Job summary

The University of Cambridge invites applications for a part-time Teaching Associate in the Faculty of Classics. The role is 0.6 FTE and fixed for 24 months from 01 January 2027, or as soon as possible.

The post focuses on intensive Greek and Latin teaching for entrants without A level qualifications. Successful applicants will also participate in Pre-term IG language teaching and act as marker/assessor of language papers across the Tripos.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach Greek and Latin at all levels, including ab initio.
• Ability to teach Greek and Latin texts from diverse genres.
• Contribute to the life and work of the Faculty as part of a team.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Teach intensive reading classes in Greek and Latin for students without A level qualification.
• Participate in the Pre-term IG language teaching and act as marker/assessor of language papers.
• Take part in the life of the Faculty and collaborate with colleagues.
