Job summary

1st Central is seeking an Associate Underwriting MI Analyst in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will contribute to the Underwriting Performance Monitoring Suite, producing BI reports and ad-hoc analyses to drive informed decisions.

The role supports hybrid working, with monthly office days to collaborate. You will work with Power BI, SQL, Databricks and SAS, building trusted data models and clear insights for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Academic background: minimum 2:1 degree in a numerical discipline.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Proficiency in Excel and SQL; Power BI is highly desirable.
• Experience in data modelling, analysis and reporting.
• Attention to detail and commitment to reliable analysis.
• Learning agility with a proactive, curious approach to learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Underwriting Performance Monitoring Suite of MI reports.
• Create new Underwriting reports and enhance existing reporting functionality.
• Publish BAU reports on a regular refresh schedule.
• Produce ad-hoc performance monitoring analyses.
• Create and maintain data models using Power BI, Databricks, SAS, SQL.
