Job summary

Eames Consulting Group is supporting a well-established specialty insurer with a Lloyd’s platform in appointing an Underwriting Data & Operations Manager to join its London team.

This broad role focuses on underwriting data, management information, data quality and operational improvement, leading Underwriting Operations Analysts and delivering insights to support decision-making.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of London Market underwriting operations.
• Advanced Excel is essential.
• Experience with Power BI/Tableau/SQL is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Underwriting Operations Analysts.
• Oversee production, accuracy and development of underwriting data and MI.
• Collaborate with Underwriting to understand data requirements and provide insights.
• Improve data quality, governance and controls across the underwriting lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate reporting and boost efficiency.
• Support the development and implementation of underwriting systems and reporting tools.
• Manage team priorities across BAU and change initiatives.

I’m working with a well-established specialty insurer with a profitable Lloyd’s platform, looking to appoint an Underwriting Data & Operations Manager to join its London team.

This is a broad role with a strong focus on underwriting data, management information, data quality and operational improvement. You’ll lead a team of Underwriting Operations Analysts, working closely with Underwriting and other functions to improve the quality, accuracy and accessibility of data, while supporting the wider operational performance of the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing a team of Underwriting Operations Analysts
• Overseeing the production, accuracy and development of underwriting data and management information.
• Working closely with Underwriting to understand data requirements, identify trends and provide meaningful insights to support decision-making.
• Improving data quality, governance and controls across the underwriting lifecycle.
• Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, automate reporting and improve operational efficiency.
• Supporting the development and implementation of underwriting systems, reporting tools and technology.
• Managing team priorities and resources across BAU activity and wider change initiatives.

We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of London Market underwriting operations, combined with excellent data, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Advanced Excel skills are essential, with experience using Power BI, Tableau, SQL or similar data and reporting tools particularly advantageous.
