Trading Underwriting Assistant - based in Manchester

Your new company: Your new company is one of the largest MGAs in the UK, with offices all over the UK that specialises in SME to mid-market Property & Casualty business. They have excellent relationships with their panel of brokers and prioritize their clients in their underwriting strategy. Due to expansion within the Existing Business team, a position for a Trading Underwriting Assistant has arisen. This role is based in Manchester.

Your new role: As a Trading Underwriting Assistant, you will develop and maintain strong broker relationships by delivering outstanding customer service and managing renewals efficiently. Collaborate proactively with your team and manager to help establish and grow the new Manchester Centre of Excellence. Duties include handling broker and client requests such as renewal queries, mid-term adjustments, and cancellations, collaborating with team members, fostering relationships with stakeholders, and taking ownership of large renewal cases. You will also operate within your delegated underwriting authority and identify opportunities to improve processes.

What you'll need to succeed: Previous experience in a service-based industry and knowledge of achieving good customer outcomes will be advantageous. You should be self-motivated, friendly, skilled at relationship building, quick to learn, able to work in a team, and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. The ability to perform under pressure, problem-solve, and ideally hold Cert CII qualification is preferred.
