Job summary

Markel Corporation in Leeds is seeking an Underwriter to join the Renewal Connect team on a hybrid basis. You will manage a high-volume renewals portfolio, delivering exceptional service to brokers while developing technical underwriting skills across Professional, Management Risks, charity and not-for-profit sectors.

The role offers a pathway to senior underwriting with support for CII qualifications, and a collaborative environment that values development and internal progression.

Qualifications

• Working closely with brokers to retain and secure business.
• Using underwriting judgement to assess risk and make effective decisions.
• Developing strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.
• Working across multiple systems including Acturis and broker trading platforms.
• Prioritising and managing workloads within a fast-paced renewals environment.

• A technical and analytical approach to underwriting

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Highly desirable:

• Acturis experience
• Commercial renewals experience
• Experience within Professional, Management Risk or Charity insurance products
• CII qualifications or active CII studies
