Job summary

Arch Europe Insurance Services Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced underwriter to deliver efficient case underwriting and ensure alignment with guidelines and regulatory requirements. You will work with brokers and internal stakeholders to achieve financial objectives.

The role requires at least 2 years in underwriting, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to develop trading relationships across functions and with broking partners in the UK.

Qualifications

• Minimum A level standard preferred.
• Progress towards Cert CII is preferred.

Responsibilities

Role Summary and Purpose

To achieve income and profit objectives through the delivery of efficient case underwriting, ensuring that all underwriting decisions align with internal guidelines, appetite and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with brokers and internal stakeholders to achieve divisional strategy, financial plan and personal objectives.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Manage own cases (renewal and/or new business), writing within appetite, and underwriting authority.
• Handle referral cases for Underwriters/Apprentices with less experience, whilst adhering to individual authority level.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of underwriting decisions.
• Adopt and adhere to company and NUH prescribed processes and best practice / standard work.
• Support the Company's QA procedures by conducting case reviews, when required, to ensure that technical procedures and standards are followed.
• Work towards divisional retention, conversion, rate and loss ratio targets.
• Enhance Arch's standing and presence nationally by establishing and maintaining strong personal relationships with broking partners.
• Display strong negotiation skills that aide conversion and relationships with all key brokers.
• Maintain and enhance personal knowledge of relevant technical topics.
• Work collaboratively with other parts of the organisation, most notably the UKR regional offices.
