Job summary

Westfield Specialty International is recruiting for an experienced insurance professional in London to support pricing and risk analysis for renewal and new business. The role may involve underwriting or pre-underwriting duties based on experience, with strong emphasis on client relationships and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • ACII qualifications or willingness to work towards.
  • Graduate level qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • 3 to 5 years experience, preferably in International Casualty Treaty.
  • Excellent IT skills – including intermediate Excel and ability to use formulas.
  • Strong numerical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Complete pricing and risk analysis of renewal and new business.
  • Underwrite or pre-underwrite new and renewal business depending on experience.
  • Build strong stakeholder and client relationships and assist in business development.
  • Ensure administrative and compliance requirements are completed timely and accurately.
  • Actively manage exposures in line with syndicate appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with brokers and clients, maintaining market relationships.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in regulation and compliance.

Job Description
  • Complete pricing and risk analysis of renewal and new business
  • Dependant on experience, underwrite or pre‑underwrite new and renewal business
  • Build strong stakeholder and client relationships
  • Assist in business development
  • Ensure administrative & compliance related requirements are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Actively manage exposures in line with syndicate appetite and requirements
  • Assist in exposure management and portfolio data analysis
  • Engage with brokers and clients, building market relationships
  • Monitor and respond to changes in regulation and compliance
  • Communication skills – ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and external clients and brokers at all levels, both verbally and in writing
  • Administrative skills – highly organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively; excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Presentation skills – ability to present to internal and external stakeholders
  • Analytical skills – numerically literate and able to analyse data
  • Compliance – ability to ensure compliance with all management and regulatory controls
Additional Competencies Expected
  • Judgement / Decision‑making skills – ability to approach problems logically and rationally and evaluate quantitative and qualitative data to make measured risk decisions
  • Relationship building – ability and confidence to establish and maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders (such as brokers, clients, and reinsurers) in a client‑facing role
Qualifications & Experience
