Job summary

Brit Insurance is seeking an Underwriter (Healthcare) to join our Healthcare team in London. You’ll underwrite insurance and reinsurance risks in line with the business plan, work with the Class Underwriter, and build strong relationships with brokers and clients.

What you’ll be doing

As an Underwriter in our Healthcare team, you’ll play a key role in underwriting insurance and reinsurance risks for Brit Global Specialty in line with the approved business plan and your individual authorisation levels. You’ll work closely with the Class Underwriter to develop new business opportunities, monitor capacity and support the preparation and maintenance of the business plan. You’ll also build strong relationships with brokers and represent Brit at client meetings, conferences and client trips. You’ll bring sound judgement to evaluating risks, present your own risks at peer review meetings and contribute to discussions on business written across the division. Alongside supporting market research and business development, you’ll help ensure relevant information is recorded and reported within regulatory requirements and that risks are written in line with regulatory guidelines. You’ll be joining an experienced, market leading underwriting team where you can continue to build your market knowledge, strengthen relationships and make a visible contribution to the growth of the business.
