Job summary

The British American Tobacco Group in Southampton offers a 12-month Undergraduate Internship in Modelling & Simulation within our Research & Development function. You will work on multi-physics simulations using tools such as Ansys, Fluent, COMSOL and Simulink/Simscape to understand and predict device behaviour.

The placement starts in September 2027, with a mentor, regular reviews with your Line Manager and projects that impact the business.

Qualifications

• Enrolment in an undergraduate degree in a STEM field.
• Interest in multi-physics modelling and simulation.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in modelling tools.

Responsibilities

• Support live projects using simulation and modelling for concept evaluation.
• Develop tools and processes to make simulation accessible to the business.
• Analyse and report simulation data to support decisions.
• Support experimental campaigns for validation and verification.
