Job summary

Modality LLP is a large-scale provider of NHS Outpatient Services, renowned for its innovative approach to delivering efficient pathways for patients requiring specialist care, leading to high-quality patient outcomes. We work in partnership with hospitals across the country to redesign outpatient services, with more care delivered in community settings. We are seeking experienced Sonographers with the skills, knowledge, and experience to coordinate and provide holistic outpatient diagnostic sonography testing to patients.

This role is suitable for individuals passionate about working in an agile manner to ensure high-quality service delivery. The postholder(s) will be expected to undertake additional duties within their competence as needed.

Main duties of the job

1. Support the Lead Sonographer in delivering a professional ultrasound service.
2. Perform and report independently on a variety of ultrasound examinations, including renal, abdominal, Doppler, gynaecological, and small parts scans, depending on qualifications.
3. Produce written reports for medical professionals and maintain accurate records using CRIS, Viewpoint, SystmOne, and PACS.
4. Communicate potentially distressing diagnoses directly to patients and refer as appropriate.
5. Maintain high standards of patient care and medical ethics.
6. Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), departmental research, and audits.
7. Supervise and mentor newly qualified and student Sonographers.
8. Support the maintenance of high standards within the ultrasound service and promote teamwork with all staff members, including HCAs and reception staff.
