Job summary

Ionix, a specialist in high performance piezoelectric sensors and actuators, is seeking a Design & Development Engineer to deliver ultrasonic sensor solutions for extreme environments. You will work across materials science, mechanics, electronics, physics and acoustics, from pre-prototype to full production, with a flexible approach to varied tasks.

You will contribute as a technical lead on multiple projects, using CAD (SolidWorks) to develop diagrams and assemblies and to document

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in Science or Engineering plus industrial experience, or 4+ years in R&D, product development or mechanical design.
• Proficient CAD skills with SolidWorks and familiarity with conventional manufacturing methods.
• Hands-on, analytical approach with ability to create high quality documentation and reports.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and developing into a subject matter expert.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, assemble, and test ultrasonic sensors for extreme environments.
• Lead projects, liaising with suppliers and stakeholders to meet requirements.
• Create technical drawings of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Produce thorough documentation for project plans, experiments, records, quality, and IP.
• Present progress and feedback to technical and commercial colleagues.
• Provide technical support to drive business development through collaboration with sales.
