Job summary

Intertek in Derby is seeking an Ultrasonic Immersion Technician to join our NDT team. This hands-on role involves carrying out precise ultrasonic inspections in a workshop environment, with defined procedures and support for inspection reporting.

The successful candidate will hold NAS410 or PCN qualifications, have an engineering or NDT background, and be a strong team player able to work to tight timeframes. Shifts include mornings, afternoons and nights.

Qualifications

• Ultrasonic qualifications NAS410 or PCN required.
• Background in engineering and/or NDT.
• Solid understanding of mathematical formulas.
• Experience working within a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate Ultrasonic Immersion Systems to scan components.
• Perform system and process checks.
• Generate inspection reports.
• Liaise with customers and colleagues to ensure quality.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Ultrasonic Immersion Technician with proven ultrasonic experience and relevant qualifications to join our growing NDT team in Derby. This hands-on role involves carrying out precise ultrasonic inspections in a workshop environment, working to defined procedures, and supporting inspection reporting as part of a fast-paced and collaborative team.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience in working with ultrasonics and be educated with either basic engineering and/or an NDT background. You’re confident working with ultrasonic inspection techniques and enjoy applying your knowledge in a workshop or laboratory environment. You will be a strong team player who’s able to work at pace and be able to work to timeframes. You take pride in accurate, methodical work and are motivated to grow your career within a supportive and expanding business. The opportunity will require a flexible attitude towards working hours

Required skills and experience:

• Hold Ultrasonic Qualifications (NAS410 or PCN)
• Basic Engineering experience and/or a background in Non-Destructive Testing
• Good understanding of mathematical formula
• Experience working within a team

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Due to successful growth of the business, we are now looking for an Ultrasonic Immersion Technician to join our thriving team based at Victory Park in Derby. The chosen candidate will be part of a well-established team and be expected to be able to work precisely to techniques and procedures to complete inspections and generate reports. You will receive training for the role to build on your existing knowledge and experience.This is a permanent full-time opportunity where the role holder will be required to work shifts consisting of mornings (06:00-14:00), afternoons (14:00-22:00) & nights (22:00-06:00).

Key activities:

• Operation of Ultrasonic Immersion Systems to carry out scans of components
• Performing of system/process control checks
• 1000 Gate Inspections
• Close customer liaison and relationship building
